Quantifying the impact of vibrations on the rheological properties of granular suspensions is advantageous for many applications, whether environmental or industrial. For example, understanding the effects of seismic shaking on soil liquefaction and measuring the vibrations to be applied to concrete to ensure it is cast effectively, are problems still to be resolved.
